My Creative year 11/366

Still working on the landscape for "Brigid's crossing" getting there, before Star wars, I was always fascinated with the skills, growing up in its shadow was very inspiring!

Cockerel is nearly done as well.

Going writing in some of the Spring story, in as well.

My Creative Year 10/366

Been mostly writing today, I "dug out" a copy for the story of the puppet show about Winter, Polaria and all that, rewriting it back into computer.

But, I also got my Cockerel covered, it takes a while with the pulp, patience is always needed!

Also got the landscape started for Brigid's crossing painting started, I've so much planned over the next, It's going to be exciting!

Getting the landscape for Brigid Crossing ready!

My creative year 8 + 9/366

Double whammy this evening, i have been working, but the flu put me out of sync a little.

Polaria is nearly there and looks pretty good, as a polar wind?

I've started one of the biggest Spring clean's of my life, details of why, along the way and finding some beautiful work from sketch books, even work done on the "Where is Spring" before, I had them all nice and cropped, but the edits weren't saved. At least, you can see them, in the raw as it were.....

A little rosebud.

The leaves of the Oak, Holly and the Ivy.

A landscape for winter

Another idea for landscape

My creative space 6/366

Still working on Polaria, but I'm determined to keep this Blog going, I've so many creative outlets, it's important to get working every day!

Been watching a documentary about Melatonin and how important it and a good nights sleep is...

I made this little bed from clothes pegs, balsa wood, fabric and clay

It's one of those things I make, purely for making's sake! It celebrates that comfortable feeling of being in bed and the world is another place entirely.

My Creative year 5/366

Thought, I would have "polaria" puppet finished, she is a storm from the north and has great ambitions!

At present, she looks like Katie Hopkins, but when finished, she'll look a lot better!

My creative year 4/366

On my way into town this rainy morning, what crossed my path, only a beautiful Cockerel, black and gold with the most healthy looking comb, pure bright red, the photo isn't great, but the memory is everlasting.

It is said to be great luck, to hear a Cock crow in the morning, it breaks all the bad luck or bad wishes headed your way!
It reminded me of a Papier Mache pulp Cockerel, i made a while back, with some hens, they all sold and have gladdened their new owners and brought good luck.

Decided to make some more, and got the Papier Mache pulp ready!

My Creative Year 3/366

I dug out this quick painting I did a good few years ago, of Brigid passing over the countryside, awakening the plants, breaking Winter's ice and blessing the "Brat Bride" a piece of white cloth that was left out on the night of the 31st January and used throughout the year as a relic of sorts.

I've decided to work again on the image and give it a new breath of life, with some very interesting innovations!

My Creative Year 2/366

My video on making Brigid's cross is my most watched one

So, this year, i decided to make another one all about Spring, Imbolg and Brigid! Recently, I read of a three armed cross, so, decided to make one and said, while i was at it, make a five-armed cross, to symbolise the triskel and the pentacle, they came out well.

Most of my focus will be about the coming of Spring, over the next while and why not, it truly is, the greatest time of year?

My creative year 1/366

The new Winter

One of the first "Glitter na Gig" Puppets I made was Winter and this year he got a re-vamp! The new Winter premiered at a show last Tuesday, 29th December, it was a show about Healthy eating for children and their parents. It was a real success and Winter still has some work ahead of him, before Spring takes over the throne.
I sandpapered the paintwork, to give him that distressed and weathered look!
